Basic Information
Northeast High School is a 9-12th 9 month long early college high school. Located at 7104 Berkman Dr, Austin, TX 78752 in Northeast Austin, NES is a public secondary school that starts at 9:05am and ends at 4:35pm.
Programs – Academics
Northeast has a wide variety of academic programs, primarily focused in career and college preparation. Similar to LBJ High School, NES offers an early college program in partnership with Austin Community College in which incoming freshman and sophomore students can acquire an associates degree (or sixty hours of a bachelor’s degree) all while in High School. You can apply for the Early College Program through an application open twice a year, you can find the information on the applications here.
Northeast also offers a P-Tech program, in which students can obtain an Associate degree in Applied Science, with a specialization in Cybersecurity. This program is in collaboration with ACC and will provide students with experience, information, and the needed certifications to begin working immediately after high school. Programs – Sports and Fine Arts
Northeast offers a multitude of different athletic and fine arts based programs. Northeast’s fine arts programs include Band and Music, Dance, Guitar, Orchestra, Theatre, Theatre Tech, and visual arts including art, painting, drawing, and design. Athletics wise, Northeast offers football, volleyball, basketball, cheerleading, soccer, wrestling, track, baseball, softball and tennis, most of which have both Varsity and Junior Varsity counterparts. Applications
To enroll as a non-returning student at Northeast your parent or guardian must create an account on AISD’s parent portal and find the online registration form. From there they must provide the child’s birth certificate, social security card (optional), immunization record, withdrawal form/last report card (if applicable), the parent/guardian photo, ID, Proof of guardianship (if applicable), and proof of residency.
