William Marshall is a new teacher at Lively Middle School. I had the chance to sit down with him to get to know him last week. Here’s what I learned.
Which subject do you teach?
Math. I teach math here but I also teach business education.
How long have you been teaching and how long have you taught at Lively?
Teaching on and off for a while Lively this Is my first year here as a teacher of record here at lively. for another three and a half years because of my dedication to but I believe in and that was making sure that every student can get a good chance to learn.
If you could enroll in another teacher’s class at Lively to learn from them, what class would you take and why?
I don’t know a lot of the teachers here at Lively. A class that is the most interesting is probably Spanish class simply because of the Language barrier that I count with students. I think it’s important to be able to at least have some dialogue with them.
What do you love about Lively?
Like most of schools is the fact that it is a a two-headed school we have a math program and your comprehensive and I think it’s important that solely focus on top tier students , but they use room for students who are not considered TOP TIER students who would not getting testing what else intelligence can you test with so what.
What song should students listen to while doing work for your class?
I wouldn’t know I’m really not a music person. I do know that music can be a way of interacting for some students but for me, for the most part, (music) can be a very big distraction. If you’re one of those students that have enough self discipline that you can multi-task then whatever music you’re comfortable with is fine with me.
Do you sponsor any clubs?
No currently not here, currently at Lively I don’t sponsor any clubs. I’m a sponsor at a club at Northeast early college high school.
Is there anything else you would like Lively students or staff to know about you?
I think I basically gives a generous absence of what I believed in and what’s important to me like i said what’s important to me is making sure that any students that they are in my class get the opportunity to self actualize.
