What did you do on New Year’s Eve?
‘It kinda went a little bad for me because I had just gotten off of practice and I fell asleep and I was 5 minutes late for the countdown,” said 7th grader Alena Arroyo.
“I bought a lot of fireworks and lit them over a span of like 40 minutes and played games with my family. I almost got hit by a firework in the chest,” said 7th grader Aaron Perez-Salinas.
“I went to a firework show at the long center and there were a variety of different things to do there. I saw many food trucks and there was also a concert,” said 7th grader Nabil Zahid.
“I went to a big party and we watched the New York Ball Drop,” said 8th grader Shanell Cervantes.
“My family invited my aunt, uncle and cousin over and we celebrated until it was 12,” said 8th grader Bonita Maldonado.
“On New Year’s Eve I didn’t do much. I watched a movie with my family and stayed up. I saw the New York City ball drop,” said 8th grader Isaac Ruttan.
“I celebrated with my family as we Mexicans traditionally do,” said Lively Science Teacher Jessica Garcia.
“I spent time catching up with family and friends, indulging in some much-needed rest, and even tackled a couple of personal projects I’ve been putting off. There was also a fair share of binge-watching my favorite shows,” said Lively Teacher Dominique Williams-Green.
“I was lucky this year and spent New Years Eve in Las Vegas celebrating with my parents and some dear friends of mine. We overlooked the Las Vegas Strip and enjoyed being almost as high as the actual fireworks. It was awesome,” said Lively Journalism Teacher Jennette Everett.
As for me, on New Year’s Eve, I watched some fireworks outside. We waited for midnight and toasted sparkling grape juice and as a family tradition we ate 12 grapes and put coins outside for good luck for the new year.
I hope all Lively Falcons have a good new year!
