It’s finally that time of year. Boys soccer tryouts were held from Oct 17 thru Oct 25th for the 2024 Lively soccer season and many 7th and 8th graders tried out for the soccer team. The coaches for soccer are Coach Norris and Coach Kirkman.
In order to try out for soccer you needed to fill out a physical. A physical is basically a document that has important information that needs to be checked before you can play a school sport. It checks your blood pressure, lungs, temperature, heart rate, head and general health. It needed to be filled out by a licensed practitioner or a qualified physician. And once you are done with the physical you needed to sign a Rank one form it is a liability waiver, on it you put your insurance information and have your parents sign it.
Now what did students do during the tryouts? Tryouts were held after school Oct 17 thru Oct 25th. During the tryouts students that tried out were tasked to perform tapping the ball, controlling the ball, dribbling and passing the ball, taking shots, call outs and basic communication.
Next let’s see what students think about soccer tryouts and what they are excited for the most.
“I have been playing soccer since I was 8 years old I am really hoping to play left back defense or midfield I also think that coach Kirkman and Norris are great coaches I think they will make us into a great team,” said 7th grader Eric Rodriguez.
“I have been playing soccer since I was very little so I would say my whole life. I would really like to play striker or midfield. I think that coaches Norris and Kirkman are both great since they are relaxed and not strict. But I am really excited for the upcoming season I am really excited to see who will win the most games,” said 7th grader Miguel Hernandez.
Many Lively students have attended soccer tryouts trying their best to secure a spot on either A or B team. But many are excited to see who has made the soccer team and how the soccer season may turn out. All excited to play games against all the other teams but most importantly have fun this soccer season.
