Yesterday, the Lively Elites & Royal Blues, Lively’s JV and Varsity dance teams, presented a dazzling (get it?) performance at the Austin performing arts center. Let’s talk about it.
The “AISD Middle School Dance Spectacular” is an annual showcase held in the winter. This year, twelve middle schools, including Lively, participated in said performance at the Austin PAC. “Seeing it backstage last night really gave the that feeling of, this is the right place for me, & it was just such a happy, relieving moment,” said Ms. Alexandria Havelka, Lively’s dance teacher.
For almost a month the Dazzler elites have been practicing & choreographing their dance to “Shake it Out” by Florence & the Machine. For the first three weeks, the Lively Elites & Royal Blues worked separately to perfect their performance, then came together a few days before the showcase to fully assemble the routine, an all together nerve-racking experience. “It was really tiring, but it was definitely more exciting because it was the JV’s (Junior Varsity) first performance, and I think it paid off,” said Brooke Bui, an 8th grader and the Social Officer for the Dazzlers. So, while the prep was obviously very stressful, the payoff was worth it!
In conclusion, our Lively Dazzlers’ work paid off, & we are so proud, not to mention excited for the future!
