Disney has made a prequel to the movie “The Lion King”, Mufasa. Mufasa is a newly released movie which came out on December 20, 2024. In my opinion Disney has run out of ideas for new movies for parents and kids to enjoy and made a horrible mistake by putting a lot of time and effort into making a bad movie named Mufasa. This article talks about my thoughts and opinions on the new Disney movie Mufasa.
The movie starts with Simba and Nala (the main characters in the first movie)saying they are going to have a baby named Kiara and that they’re expecting another one soon. They leave for an oasis where Nala can give birth, while Simba asks Timon and Pumbaa (who were in the first movie) to watch over Kiara. As well giving their own 2 piece. The beginning of the story starts with Mufasa being born. But as soon as his life begins then his life takes a terrible turn as while his family is in the water hole a terrible flood came and washed everything and everyone away. He eventually met Taka, a prince, saved Mufasa’s Life from a hungry croc. But the king lion, Taka’s father said he’s not welcome but he challenged Taka to a race and won. They ventured off after they got into a bad situation with the albino lions and the lions killed takas family. They ventured to go find Miele. A magical place that Eeshe said.
As they venture they meet a stray lioness Sarabi and her sidekick Zazu and a young Rafiki. Rafiki told them he was going to Milele to find his lost brother. While they all walked together Taka told Mufasa he had feelings for Sarabi. The outsiders are now on there trail and now we’re about to get them before Sarabi created a stampede of elephants the outsiders retreat and before Sarabi gets squished by elephants Mufasa leaps and saves her but when she wakes up and asked who save her Mufasa lied and said it was Taka. Now the pack was in the snowy mountains about to find Milele they had to cover their tracks so the outsiders didn’t find them. Mufasa has a smart idea and covers them with snow. When they were going to set up camp Mufasa and Sarabi fell in love and sang a song. While this was happening Taka saw and got upset. But had an evil Idea to find the outsiders. When he did he had an alliance and joined their pack to get revenge from Mufasa.
The pack made it to Mlilele as Rafiki finds the tree from his vision and claims that Mufasa is his brother. But during that nice heartfelt moment the outsiders come and attack the land. Mufasa attacks the king and they have an epic battle while the lionesses have a battle of their own. But they won when the rock they were on collapses and crushes them. Eventually Mufasa and the king fall down to a pit where they have an epic battle but the king starts to win. Taka comes down and sees this and feels something that he’s never felt before. Courage. He joins in and helps Mufasa but the king lashes taka in the eye.. But then a giant rock collides and flood starts and Mufasa and the king sink into a massive hole filled with water. Before the king kills Mufasa in the water a huge pike like rock comes and knocks him to the bottom of the hole and kills him. Mufasa about to drown Taka saves him. They come back to see the light where all the animals were cheering his name and bowing down to him. He made it to see that his long lost mother was there standing in awe as she finally found her son. Though tells him that his father past in the flood. Then he confront Taka about his betrayal and allows him to stay but refer to Taka by his name no longer but as “Scar” Then he reaches to the new formed pride rock and roars with pride.
Back in the present Kiara roars atop pride rock as she can see the spirit of her Grandfather looms form the cloud above her. She and her friends soon reunite with Simba to meet her newly born sibling. To whom Kiara offers to tell Mufasa’s story.
I honestly thought that this movie was done well with the CGI. I like the story line. I like that we get a follow up and a little more story to Mufasa. HOWEVER, I don’t like that Disney has been using old movies such as The Little Mermaid, Pinocchio, Lady and the Tramp, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and that’s just to name a few. There’s many more to come, I bet. But that’s my opinion.
