
Team Fluff wins the Lombarky Trophy1. after a close fight with title holders Team Ruff. They won the game with time expiring as Paws Allen, a Labrador Retriever mix pup, ran in the game winning touchdown to win Team Fluff the Lombarky Trophy1. 68 – 66 in the dying seconds. The Puppy Bowl is the longest running call-to-adoption television event, and this is the 21st edition.
Puppy Bowl XXI took place on February 9th, 2025 and 143 adoptable puppies from 75 shelters and rescues across 38 states battled it off for the Lombarky Trophy.1. The Lombarky Trophy1. has been contested between Team Ruff, and Team Fluff since Puppy Bowl XI.
Puppy Bowl XXI was the first edition that hosted a scouting combine for 10 pups as an addition to both teams. Team Fluff, and Team Ruff would choose the pups based on performance at the combine and this took place before the game had even begun. These puppies were ranked from 1 to 5 in the draft order and Team Fluff got to pick first because they lost the last Puppy Bowl. Team Fluff, and Team Ruff would select one after another. Team Fluff selected these five pups Julep, Alice, Sarge, Belle, and Carl. Team Ruff selected these other five pups Foxtrot, Trio, Enrique, Lightning, and Beethoven.
As for the awards given before Puppy Bowl XXI there was the Pupularity2. Playoffs, this is actually voted by the public up to weeks before the game airs. One of the coveted awards for Puppy Bowl is to be the “Most Pupular,2.” and this is voted in the Pupularity2. Playoffs. After the game concluded they announced two other awards, the MVP (Most Valuable Puppy) award voted on X by the public during the game, and the underdog award for a pup who didn’t do much in the games. The winner of these awards was Dee-Bone Samuel winning the “Most Pupular,2.” title, the MVP winner went to Foxtrot, and the under dog award winner was Mercury. As for the breeds of these cute pups, Dee-bone Samuel is a poodle mix, Foxtrot is a border collie mix, and Mercury is a great pyrenees/maremma sheepdog.
In total the Puppy Bowl was a success, raised awareness for adoption with many of them being adopted, and lastly they were shown with in their new forever home.
