What degrees or certifications do you hold?
I have a Bachelors in social,anthropology and cross cultural and a MASTERS in SPED education.
What’s your history in teaching?
I started in 1994 and started as a bilingual teacher and stopped being one in 2012 and then was a substitute teacher.
What led you to Lively?
My Granddaughter is a student in lively as a 6th grader and I love their history and extracurricular activities.
What do you love about Lively so far?
I love the opportunity given to students and teachers working together.
What made you decide to be a teacher?
I wanted to be a attorney but I needed a job and got into being bilingual teacher by overhearing the need of a bilingual teacher.
Why do you teach what you teach?
Because her son has special needs so she created a private school/homeschool for him and wanted to teach special education.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by the meaningful time with the kids I teach.
What’s the best/worst thing about being a teacher?
The best thing is the smiles in the students and the growth. The worst thing is that teachers are underappreciated.
If you could enroll in another teachers call at lively to learn from them what class would it be and why?
I would want to enroll in law with Mr. Galan because I used to study law.
What is your dream job?
I would like to be a teacher in university.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I see myself most likely retired and if not still teaching till I am not able to.
Do you have a hobby?
I like to go hiking with my daughter and I like gardening.
Did you have a favorite subject in school?
I liked science and math.
If you had to teach a subject what would it be?
I would like to teach English like composition.
Tell me about your family.
I have 2 boys and 2 girls. I also have 2 grandchildren.
What is one tip you would give to your students?
Love yourself. Be yourself and don’t become someone you’re not.
What do you dislike about teaching?
I surprisingly don’t dislike anything about teaching.
Have you thought any other grades and if you did whats you favorite grade to teach?
I thought most of all grades and so far my favorite has to be Pre-K.
Who is your teaching role model?
My teaching role model is (Maria) Montessori. She is a philosopher.
